I don't generally frequent the lounge.

Anyway, thanks for the responses so far, especially the link that that past thread.

that vampire movie with Eddie Murphy, I can't think of the name of it.
Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. A classic comedy from the 60's.
I like the new Wild Wild West movie and the remake of Maverick. I too like Swordfish.

you know what are really fun movies? renting all those Hong Kong Golden Harvest films starring Jet Li....the ones before he hit it big in the US...

theyre so funny....the story lines and dialogue are hilarious, even though theyre not supposed to be....the stunts and fighting are pretty cool....very campy but fun...

I just recently re-rented Twin Warriors....which stars Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh....very good hong kong fight movie...

1. Pulp Fiction
This movie has it all. It's just plain brilliant
2. Goodfellas
I liked it when Joe Pesci killed that bartender dude.
3. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Gotta love the poisoned needle deflecting.
4. Patton
A good movie that explains the emotions behind Patton
5. Requiem for a Dream
A profoundly disturbing movie.
6. 2001: A Space Odyssey
An awe-inspiring movie.
7. A Clockwork Orange
Another disturbing movie, but am I the only one who thought it was funny?
8. All the Monty Python movies
These three are true epics
9. American History X
Not so great, but I can't think of anything else!
10. Robocop
THIS IS THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!

BTW, SEVEN SUCKED DONKEY NUTS

my current top three:

Chinatown (1974) (dir: Roman Polanski)

Cries & Whispers (1972) (dir: Ingmar Bergman)

Interiors (1978) (dir: Woody Allen)

three very dark and sobering films. just the way i like it.

and i just ordered begotten (1991). that one should be good.

Anyone seen Minority Report? I'm not sure it would be in my top ten, but I definitely thought that it was a great movie.

I just saw Road to Perdition the other day. It was too predictable for me, but still worth the price of admission.

Two of my other favorites (which aren't technically good movies) are Christmas Vacation and Vacation. I've probably seen each one 50 times and they are funny every time. Vegas Vacation and European Vacation aren't nearly as good, but still pretty funny.

Here's one that I think kicks ass:

Very Bad Things

Anyone seen it? I've only seen it once. I would have rented it again, but since I will be buying the DVD soon, I haven't.
