I'll throw these out for consideration. In no order really, except for the first one:

"Celebrated Summer" by Husker Du (do you remember when the first snowfall fell?)

"Schizophrenia" by Sonic Youth (she said Jesus had a twin who knew nothing about sin..)

"Can't Hardly Wait" by The Replacements (ashtray floors, dirty clothes and filthy jokes..)

"If You Are To Bloom" by Hum (I just sit and wait for a blip to break the perfect little thin green line..)

"The Ship Song" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (when I must remove your wings and you must try to fly..)

"Frittering" by Mercury Rev (slow as a glacier makes its way down to the Rhine)

"Wolves, Lower" by R.E.M. (House in order...)

"Upstairs" by The Swirlies (drowning in sand..)

"Half-gifts" by The Cocteau Twins (intimacy's when we're in the same place at the same time dealing honestly with how we feel and who we really are..)

"The Eternal" by Joy Division (try to cry out in the heat of the moment..)

"The Carnival is Over" by Dead Can Dance (the procession moves on, the shouting is over, the fabulous freaks are leaving town..)

Great list. I love all those songs. Especially the Beatles, Lennon, and I would have to say one of the best Beach Boys songs IMHO. Now I gotta think about my list for a few days as well.
