I remember being impressed when "Country" turned electric with no finer example of electric guitar fretwork and their arrangements with driving percussion than I experienced with the band behind John Hyiatt - Of course his lyrical delivery with an intoxicating Southern drawl telling the story as a remarkably talented balladeer closes the deal for an excellent listen and relisten!
Here on this particular recording ("Greatest Hits") are the finest takes and examples of his artistry:

John Hiatt - 1979, Berkeley, CA - when I first started working in a record shop in 1974, the manager there was a big fan of John Hiatt's album 'Hangin' 'Round the Observatory'.....
