A moment of silence for the legend -

An icon. RIP.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.

A great man has walked through the cornfield.....RIP

One of my favourite films...it's cheesy but I still love it!

Beethoven "Sonata for Violoncello and Piano No. 3 in A major op. 69" by Julius Berger (Violoncello), Margarita Höhenrieder (Piano) / 2018 - 2019, Bietigheim-Bissingen, Kronenzentrum. A recording that I find properly captures the character of the room and a full and focused tonality for the piano as I remember from live venues where other recordings had the piano sounding too dark or dull. The only issue is that compared to the usual concert grand arrangement as seen from the audience, the bass is imaging from the left (middle) and the treble from the right, suggesting an odd choice of micing or mixing for reproduction of this chamber music performance, and I doubt the grand piano was facing the other way or that an upright piano was used.
