Cassandra Wilson fan here. This is one (album) a lot of people like, but I actually prefer Blue Light 'Til Dawn. That said, Harvest Moon is beautiful.
When a sentimental mood hits me I do enjoy her sultry dark delivery on these old standards I would hear at home in my youth - Lounge singers, ya know.

Thanx for the suggestion, " Cassandra Wilson Blue Light 'Til Dawn " - will do !

Oh, and I felt deep empathy with your loss of 100 LP's early in your service, as I also had a boom box and small collection of 8 track tapes pilfered early on in my enlistment 1971 - Nothing worse than going without our music due to theft...GRRrrrrrr :thinking: :beerchug:

I do agree with this comment "her sultry dark delivery" and why I like her very much. BTW, I'm listening to the New Moon Daughter now BTW, this my Cassandra collection...

Well, I guess I was lucky that not all my music was taken as I'd had well over 500 albums at that time, but I lost a lot of good stuff, particularly my 12-inch collection of which I've never been able to replace. That's the part that still bothers me to this day. Also stolen was my stereo equipment.

I had an idiot of a roommate who got so high he'd given his room keys to someone who'd been eying my stuff. Needless to say, we were no longer roommates. His drug use ended up haunting him, so...

Solo albums 1974 - 1983. In between he spent a few years with Weather Report.
Some of these have his "big band" so lots of horns and reeds. HD800 = :)
These are some seriously underrated, quality albums!!

@RCBinTN,

The only Jaco I have is that second one - self titled Jaco Pastorius.

The beauty of streaming Qobuz thru Roon. I don't own any of them, and yet all are available for me to listen and, if I choose, to own the digital files. :)

I only have Spotify and only use it to preview stuff I'm interested in buying. I don't use it as my main listening source. Everything I post I have either the CD, vinyl, or both.

Never heard of them before, but I like what I heard there. Could also feel the energy of that live performance.
