World of Warcraft soundtrack. Even if you don't like the game, the soundtrack is amazing.

I agree; their soundtracks are top-notch. They have some of the finest composers in the industry. Waiting on Cataclysm's ost myself though I won't be playin' the game anytime soon.

As do I..I dont actually play WOW though

David Bowie's "Warszawa" from the album "Low" is now playing while listing with the new Pioneer (Monitor 10R) on the same set up the DF was connected to. "Subterraneans" just started. Consider me in awe occasionally closing my eyes taking up the sound which can only be described as heavenly... There is something about this album "Low"... I will finish with some Bach.

...you should try ...

... amazing ...

I have to get a copy of that "Switched On Bach" album.

Meanwhile I'm listening to Buddy Guy - "Living Proof"

I liked most of it but I'm somewhat disappointed with the recording. It just lacks dynamics in my opinion.

cheers!

Béla Bartók - Miraculous Mandarin
Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Iván Fischer

In fact I have several recordings of this masterpiece but on vinyl and I don't have a record player any more.

I recently picked this one up on CD. I think it is a good version.

Throughout my twenties I listened mostly to rock/alterntive rock etc. but I had a handful of classical pieces which I kept returning to. This was one of them.

The Miraculous Mandarin is fascinating, it is something which draws you in.

Today I listen to classical almost exclusively and my understanding of the Mandarin is increasing as my comprehension of the classical form improves.

Every time I revisit it I see more of what is in it.

It observes modern day urban life. Emotional confusion reigns...

The Grateful Dead ~ The Warlocks Box

10/8/89 at the Hampton Coliseum

I used to listen to these shows on cassette.
The HDCD version is much better.
