The 5th album by Wings, released in 1976, remastered in 2014. 24/96.

Annette advised that Sir Paul McCartney CH MBE did not reach full potential until after
he'd left The Beatles, so I decided to pull these from the archive and listen, my first time.
Whilst not sure I agree 100%, this music is very decent. I do miss Ringo's drumming.

I don't know how to describe this band's sound, so I got this from Wikipedia : Their music is influenced by rock and roll, Tex-Mex, country, zydeco, folk, R&B, blues, brown-eyed-soul, and traditional music such as cambia, boleros and nortenos.
They've been around since 1973 and are still going strong and still touring. Very talented musicians, singers & song writers. Although they're well known I still believe they should be a bit more popular than they are. If I can use one adjective to encapsulate this band it would be "outstanding".

It's funny that for many years "Led Zeppelin III" was my least favorite Led Zeppelin album. I distinctly remember originally buying it only for "Immigrant Song." However, the "funny" part is that decades later, this is the Led Zeppelin album I go to the most frequently. I often wonder where Zeppelin would have gone if they were still making music today. My guess would be that the direction would have been largely in a delta/roots/acoustic blues direction...



IMHO Joe Strummer was an under-appreciated genius who embodied what I consider to be the rock 'n' roll attitude. He always had a point-of-view. Another (like the above...) great "what if?" I still get shivers when I hear songs like "The Call Up," "The Magnificent Seven," and "Clampdown." This compilation is an interesting retrospective of his solo work. The quality is spotty, but Joe probably did that on purpose...
