I didn't find it to be bad. Sure, it's compressed like most metal, but I don't hear any clipping or distortion.

Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow

Saw him on his concert Tour for the introduction of this album, I think it was 1975, The Felt Forum, great venue. He was superb, played the album end to end. Very memorable., he just stood calmly on stage and those magical notes just filled the room.
