Jeff Wayne - Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The World's The New Generation

Man that takes me back. I remember listening to the original in the 80's. Richard Burton did the voiceovers and they had a pretty good lineup of musicians. Including Justin Hayward as I recall.

Trypophobia alert aside hahaha I can't read the name of the album 😅

Anyway can just search for "Namewee" - introducing a very very very talented artist in my home country Malaysia, dumb lyric but great songwriting skills
That band is Ahab.

Such fond memories of this album - I went to see them in Dublin for the album tour.
They’re one of my favourite bands of all time. I’ve been a fan since the breakup of the Housemartins and the first inception of TBS. I had this album on vinyl when it was released. Haha of course back in the day you didn’t refer to it as vinyl, it was simply a ‘record’. Later bought the CD. Unfortunately I never got to see them live.

Paul Heston has had a solo career and some of his work (actually a lot of his work) is reminiscent of TBS. In fact I sometimes think that had I not known it was a solo affair when I heard it I would automatically think it was TBS. He’s now teamed up with Jacqui Abbott and they are on tour this November and December. Billy Bragg is also on that tour.

Listened to this twice. Pretty good. Very different. I love all of the different sounds to try and figure out. Very creative.

It's a bit too experimental for my typical listening sessions, but I do like the sounds (like you), and the mix is rather good. I wouldn't recommend listening to some of the tracks in an altered stage of mind.

Jeff Beck - Performing This Week ... Live At Ronnie Scott's.jpg
Great performance by a great band. Tal Wilkenfeld on bass, Vinnie Colaiuta
on drums and Jason Rebello on keys. Mr. Beck is simply uber-talented ...
too bad he's had such a reclusive career. I could eat up a dozen more like this.

This song is by Jan Hammer.

Jeff's take on the Charles Mingus classic ... amazing guitar work here.

Ahmad Jamal - Blue Moon1.jpg
Thanks to @Whazzzup for the idea! Ahmad Jamal is cool.
The band is Reginald Veal on bass, Herlin Riley on drums (graduates of JALCO),
and Menolo Badrena of Weather Report on percussion ... decent!

just watched this..

Thanks ... will check it out. I saw it pop-up whilst watching an interview with Giles Martin about his remixing of the album Revolver (that's an interesting chat, too). :)

Here's the conversation ...
