    Led Zeppelin III.jpg

It's funny that for many years "Led Zeppelin III" was my least favorite Led Zeppelin album. I distinctly remember originally buying it only for "Immigrant Song." However, the "funny" part is that decades later, this is the Led Zeppelin album I go to the most frequently. I often wonder where Zeppelin would have gone if they were still making music today. My guess would be that the direction would have been largely in a delta/roots/acoustic blues direction...

    Joe Strummer_101.jpg

IMHO Joe Strummer was an under-appreciated genius who embodied what I consider to be the rock 'n' roll attitude. He always had a point-of-view. Another (like the above...) great "what if?" I still get shivers when I hear songs like "The Call Up," "The Magnificent Seven," and "Clampdown." This compilation is an interesting retrospective of his solo work. The quality is spotty, but Joe probably did that on purpose...

download-3.jpg download.jpg images.jpg download-1.jpg download-2.jpg Been gone a while, had catching up to do. Kingfish is a terrific talent, anxious to see it grow. Allman Betts keeping the Brothers alive. I enjoy the Boss and the new album was a great addition to the catalogue. Slim and Toure a nice journey to the past. Forgot the new Keb Mo album, he is just plain fantastic in writing and playing.

Well done, Joe! Welcome back ... now you just need the Keb' Mo' album that @whirlwind posted above ... Kevin moved to Nashville
at one point, not sure why, but most established musicians move here for the song writers, producers and session musicians :)

Taj Mahal, Keb' Mo' - TajMo.jpg
2018 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Uber-engaging.
Bonnie Raitt, Joe Walsh, Sheila E. and Lizz Wright are guest artists.

    Keb' Mo' - Oklahoma.jpg
Keb' Mo's 2019 album Oklahoma ... inspired when Kevin visited and saw the destruction
caused by tornados. Great production & relevant topics. I anticipate a 2020 Grammy award.
Guest artists include Rosanne Cash, Taj Mahal and Robert Randolph (pedal steel guitar).
Thanks for the idea @whirlwind et al.

Extra time, so a bit of lagniappe for y'all ...
