I love Al "The Blind Owl" Wilson. He's the forgotten member of the somber 27 club ( Hendrix, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin ...). I strongly recommend the double album "The Blind Owl" / Alan Wilson.

Just citing a mail I received from Blue Note Records. A wonderful occasion of again listening to an iconic Cannonball Adderley take!
'60 years ago on March 9, 1958, the great alto saxophonist Cannonball Adderley recorded his timeless classic Somethin' Else featuring trumpeter Miles Davis in a rare sideman role, as well as pianist Hank Jones, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Art Blakey. Produced by Alfred Lion, recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, and given an iconic cover design by Reid Miles, it was the sole album that Cannonball made as a leader for Blue Note and it stands as one of the pinnacles our catalog, a perfect representation of the Blue Note aesthetic'.
