well, the grado sr60 is open and has a very front soundstage, so i dont recommend those for gaming. i myself am looking at the a500, as the a900 has a nice 3d soundstage for gaming. i dont wanna spend another 100, so i figure the a500 is a good choice.

Well the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro excels at gaming and HT applications and sounds great for music too. They can be had for $60-70 through price negotiation at Guitar Center if you have one near you. If not, look online, you should be able to find prices at this level. Keep in mind they require a lot of burn in and are very uncomfortable for the first 2 weeks to a month (after which they become very comfortable). There are much better cans out there, but these offer a lot of bang for the buck IMHO. I have both the 280 and the sr60 and while I use both, I use the 280's a lot more for their isolation and better performance in gaming and HT.

If you don't need the isolation, can push your budget to $75, and can do the Guitar Center negotiation thing, the AKG 240s is another option which are quite nice. They're more musical than the 280's and have a lot more bass (that may be good or bad depending on your preferences). I got a pair for $73+ tax ($80 out the door) from Guitar Center but ended up taking them back because there was something on the right driver (I could have probably opened it up and removed the particle) and I really had wanted more isolation than they provide. Another plus for them is that they are very comfortable.

Sony V6 is your best bet. You could also try Senn212, for games they are ok.

Koss r80's. They don't have the bleeding highs of the v6's or the nasal quality of the senn 280's. And you can get them for $35...

Biggie.

i heard 3 of the ones you listed beside the hd497. i would pick the m30. the v6 sweat ears much faster. m30's earpads are bigger. also the m30 sound "flatter" so it wont cause ear fatigue. for the price it should be decent for gaming. i think if you get a used sony eggo for that price would make a good candidate. they position sound very well.

Thank you very much guys for your time and help . I found a pair of Senn 497 for 50$ shipped , i think that i will get those .
The Sony V6 would cost me 75 $ shipped and the Senn 280 some 90 $ shipped so i think that the best deal is the 497 .
Do you guys think that the V6 is worth 25 $ more or Senn 280 40$ more ?

that's pretty high for the 280's but they should still be better though that's probably arguable... I haven't heard the 497's out of decent gear and when i did hear them it was only for a short period so I can really say for sure though.

I got my 280's for $70 so they'd be charging you $20 for shipping... someone else actually got them down to $60 shortly after so then you're being nailed for $30 shipping... OUCH! Do you have a local Guitar Center?
