I'm pretty familiar with the IEM's on the market and all the praise many of them receive, but other than the PK1, I haven't heard much about some of the better sounding canal phones or earbuds. I recently picked up a pair of the Vibes, which I'm totally enjoying, and am also pretty happy with the Bose IE's.

As good as both the Vibes and Bose are, I'm assuming that they're on the lower end of the performance scale, even for canal/buds.

I've finally got a portable amp so power isn't an issue and I'm not looking for anything that totally isolates me from the outside world.

So...

What are some of the premier canal phones or earbuds?

The best of the best are custom IEMs made by Ultimate Ears. Their UE10 and UE11 Models cost $900 and $1150 but are some of the best headphones in the world. As far as Universal Fit IEMs go, the UE Triple.fi 10, the Shure SE530, and the Etymotic ER4-S pretty much kill all other earphones right now on the market. Westone is also releasing their 3-way earphone soon which should be up and competing with these listed here. If you don't want total isolation, than the best one is the triple.fi 10, however some people have fit issues with these. Personally I find them very comfortable and easy to fit into my ears. The Triple.fi is my favorite headphone and I love it.

then based on your criteria; don't need total isolation, you have an amp, outstanding sound, plus they're cheaper than an expensive canal phone, and can hold there own up against most of them; my vote which you originally mentioned in your post, the Yuin Pk-1's all the way.
