Where they quite neutral sounding aswell? Because I prefer neutral sound with good clarity.

Maybe the source of those headphone was just s*** in the headphones store. But anyway, those are out of my budget.

I'm planning to buy them online. But how is the sound of the MDR-ZX700 compared to that of the CAL! in terms of rap/hiphop and vocal only sounds?

After all the q & a, and good information, in this thread,
I still recommend the Sony MDR V6.

Another vote for the MDR-V6. Good all around headphone with a little bass emphasis and a little treble emphasis.
