I was set on an M3, but my recent purchase as made me want a slightly more analytical adn bright amp to make up for the high end roll off. I wsa told the PPA was slightly better suited, what do you guys think? Only stipulations are that it must be DIY and I must be able to build a pre-amp around it.

I'm using a PPA as the moment with my HD650. Using AD8065 op-amps, I find the sound to be much brighter and in you face as compared to lets say OPA627.

My PPA with Glassman DB + Steps PS & AD8610 opamps has been my favorite amp so far with the HD-650, excluding the Headroom Max & maybe Dynahi.

I have a Meier Corda HA-1 Mk II.

Don't believe he has any more available for sale (at least none listed, but you could ask). Though you could maybe snag one from TTVJ. I love its simplicity and old-school design. I have no desire to mobilize an amp so it's perfect for me.

Amps in the sig. I use the GLite with the DPS (since I haven't received the mpx3-slam yet, it's been 6 weeks, still waiting

) and it drives them comfortably. I'm very happy with this combo, although I suspect a tube amp will do the 650's better than a solid state amp.

Maxed out Millet Hybrid here. It's got fairly good decay and a nice transient response, but still maintains a good balance of warmth that doesn't overly cloud the lower end frequencies. In my opinion, it combines good traits of solid state and tube amps.
