Jerry Garcia did cover that song with the GD. It has long been argued that Jerry's live covers of Dylan tunes are better than the originals. Dylan himself hinted agreement with this sentiment.

And here I was going to claim "close enough" based on the fact that (I think) they shared a stage.

Turns out I was right and I didn't even know it :wink:

They did share a stage, with the GD serving as Dylan's band for a brief Summer. Jerry played a lot of Dylan tunes with his own band as well as the Dead, he knew a good song and loved to play them.

The sci-fi stuff I guess. Who else would know "Klaatu" and "Barada Nikto".
