I've just recieved my UM2's but I'm not a huge fan of the comply tips. I saw the black shure tips....not sure what they are called. I'm looking for something that is comfortable and more durable than the comply tips. Any suggestions....
If you could, post pics of your tips!!

Merry Christmas!!

i had the um1's which take the same tips.

i switched between the short complys and the shure triple flange that i cut to a double flange. they are sold now so i have no pics.

the westones were super comfy either way.

my choice: Shure foamies.

from my experience:
Shure clear flex is also good, gives more treble but also more sibilant at times.

Shure triflange/biflange sound close to the foamies, but has a bit less clarity and bass.

Soft grey flex sounds similar to that of short complies, muffles the sound to a certain degree, makes the mids veiled but creates a bigger soundstage.

All complies(long and short) suck sonically.

Shure Triple Flange Sleeves, modified to bi-flange and shorter stem.

Go ahead and order the Shure Fit Kit and experiment a little bit, I think it's around 13-14 bucks at earphone solutions. (this is where my wife bought mine, I'm not trying to advertise them specifically).

this is what i did too. it really helps to brighten up the top end. the complys sound too muffled, imo.

try the triple flanges, then cut the smallest flange off and make the stem flush like the above poster said.

thats what i did and it was the best.

you can order the triple flanges separate if you want them back to normal afterwards.

that or you can go ninja with crazy glue.

UM56s. The sound the best, fit the best, isolate the best, are the most comfortable and are cheaper in the long run.

I'm using the short complys. Once I started inserting the UM2's correctly, my ears couldn't tell that much difference between the the shure clear flex and the complys (besides comfort).

Soft grey ones.. just can't beat the comfort

I second that. Comfort and ease of insertion/removal. However, the short sound tube is a bit recessed in Shure greys, and so they can be a bit more directional than shorter tips - but once you learn to line 'em up...

I think you're right, the UM56's are going to be the cheapest in the long run. How much did you pay for your molds? I got a quote for $110 the other day...sound about right?
