Westone UM PRO Series Thread

These new looks are more Shure-esque from an assembly point of view. I trust it (which i could not say from the former UM Pro line).

Yep, as it was mentioned officially by Westone HERE, they are taking it seriously.

And I do agree, New UM Pro line looks awesome

Damn it; I have ZERO need for a um pro 10 right now, yet here I am, about 30 seconds away from clicking 'buy it now' on amazon.

Nice review!

Thanks!

For a slightly more intimate midrange, a treble response that is less relaxed in the middle highs, and a little better upper/super treble extension (as well as deeper fit that you are used to anyway with your ER4SR), you may enjoy the ER3SE or ER3XR as well.
On the technical level, all three are quite close to each other.

Anyway, my UM Pro 10 review is now also here on Head-Fi: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/westone-new-um-pro-10.22823/reviews#review-19616

Hi. Which portable player would u recommend for um pro 50?

Gotta be more specific. How much do you want to spend? Do you want streaming/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth? Do you want touch screen? Balanced or single ended outputs? Battery life? Other headphones in your collection? Do you want standalone DAP or a portable USB dac for your phone?

Are there owners of the new Um Pro 30? How is it in comparison with the previous generation? Same midbass emphasized signature? Thanks.

Yes, the sub-bass rumble and mid-bass punch are the same. But now you get a better treble extension (close to AM Pro 30), and overall sound is a little more resolving and with more sparkle in treble.

Btw, Aleksei (Hans Barbarossa, of audio-ph), posted on FB that he got both New Um Pro 30 and Um Pro 50 for review, so, you will be able to read his impressions in Russian soon too

Save 15% on all westone models at amp3 in the uk (if they have any left in stock, funny that). Use boxing15 at the checkout to take 15% off the total (and joking aside it does seem to work with out of stock items so you can still order stuff). Closed today but open tomorrow.

Earphone solutions has been emailing me about 35 percent off Westones all of December, you could get um pro 50 for as low as 430ish USD

Are you talking about the discount for the new v2 version of Pro 50? If that's New UM Pro 50 for $430, that's one heck of a deal.

They do indeed offer the discount for 50 Pro v2 as I just placed my order right away using a coupon. Thank you for the heads up macbug
