Hoping somebody can help with a weird question.
I recently ordered a new set of Westone UM Pro 50's from Westone, sold and delivered by Amazon. What I actually received appeared to be used, the sleeve around the Westone box was missing (I figured this out after the fact after looking at some reviews that showed the original packaging), and the IEM's were loose in the Westone box with the case and tips, not a newly shipped unit from everything I could tell. I informed Amazon, they started a return, and I ordered another set. The replacement set arrived today, and was in a box with a sleeve labeled Westone UM Pro 50, had a barcode with a SN# on the side, looked like they were new, never used.
Only difference is that physically the replacement set, are larger than what I originally received. So that has me wondering, what did I receive originally, and what do I have now? I don't think they are counterfeit, but I don't know how to tell, can I call Westone and give them serial number to validate 100%. My best guess is that I originally received a set UM Pro 30 or below. I have no way of telling since I don't own any of the other sets to compare.
Here is a picture. The IEM on the left is what I originally received, the one on the right is the replacement that came in a UM Pro 50 box.
How can I tell model #'s on the IEM's themselves, is that even possible, I don't see anything obvious on there.
Thanks! Andy
