Yesterday I posted about what Bohica means in reference to markl's review of power cords. Today I find that my post was removed with no other feedback.

Is this normal for this site?

I was not trying to troll, rather simply pointing out that a cable manufacturer sells a $1000+ power cable that has a name that means something to some of us. And it means something pretty unsavory.

But, please do not take my word for it. Please google bohica for yourselves and see if you think this is an appropriate name for anything someone is trying to sell to us.

Thanks.

I guess this sort of thing is expected on popular forums.

The other day I tried to post a link to that Virtual Dynamics thread on audiogon's cable forum. I was told that my post would be inspected for content by the mods there. 48 hours later, my post never appeared on audiogon's cable forum.

Is does not happen that often, but it does happen. I thought you were just trolling yesterday and I didn't know what your point was. That may have not been your intent, but that is what I got out of it. Your low post count may also have been a reason. The mods are trying to clean up the cable forum, so someone a low post count coming in with the comment you made probably didn't seem appropriate. I am not saying I agree or disagree with it, but I am trying to give you an explanation, although I don't know the exact reason.

One of my threads got locked for no reason and I was dying! (theoretically...)

Also, expect this thread to get locked/deleted pretty soon. It's against Head-Fi rules to discuss locked/deleted threads.

In before the lock!

That is kind of what I thought happened, meat01. However, I was trying to point out that this particular vendor is basically telling us that he is giving us the proverbial screw. The cord itself may be the best cord every sold, but the name is offensive (especially to former Marines).

I figure the only way to increase one's post count is to post. Am I wrong?

Yeah freedom of speech does not apply here. Jude can censor anything he likes since he owns the forum. If you don't like it hit the bricks.

Pretty much like that with any civilized forum community, afterall most of what does get deleted is pointless trolls anyway or people trying to incite a flame war.

Yes, you were most probably censored.
Once in a while threads get censored and removed around here. Not often, but it happens.

Are you suggesting that I am a pointless troll or trying to incite?

I was, and am, simply trying to point out the irony of Bohica used as a name for a cable. Anyway, watch out for the big green wienie 'cuz bohica.

Probably removed because of the sexual connotation. This board keeps it clean, and that is not a criticism. I give Jude and the rest of the crew a lot of credit for their work. It may not be noticeable, but a lot of thought and experience go into the policies. It is worth reading through the TOS at the bottom of the page.

Which is the reason I did not expand the acronym in this post, rather I suggested that folks google it.

Anyway, I'm not looking for trouble or trying to start anything here.

When I was in the Corps, Bohica was used when something very bad was about to happen to ya. Your mileage may vary.
