Very sad, but at least he was able to live a little longer than they thought, and was able to complete his final album.

That is very sad news. I have been meaning to pick up Genius for some time now.

This is very sad news, but was expected. I too am grateful he was able to finish The Wind...it's a beautiful album and a wonderful tribute to his life.

Warren was one of those musicians whose music always brings a smile to my face. I was the first around town to have discovered him and it was kind of cool to pass on the word when he wasn't well known. Lots of good memories - and he was a real trooper until his dying day!

This is particularily sad, even though we knew it was coming. From all I know, even aside from his musical talent and achievements, Warren was one of the truly good guys.
Take a moment and read this wonderful tribute to Warren from his close friend, Mitch Albom, the noted writer who is a daily columnist in our Detroit Free Press newspaper.

Just remember one thing: He left us with his dignity intact, and he was at peace with himself and those he loved. He finished his album, and his life on his own terms. I wish we all could do the same. For us fans, a part of him will always be with us. Thanks, Warren.
