WARNING THE GRADO 325i AND OTHER MODELS MAYBE

Yeah, when my Grado SR60's were brand new, I had that happen to me as well. At the time, I just thought I was using them too much or something, but seriously that shouldn't happen. I had to find superglue and shove it into the hole and then put the thing through the hole again to get it fixed.

That's most unfortunate. Hasn't happened to me yet, but I've heard reports of it since forever. It's a Grado Thang, what can you say. It's probably my most unfave part of the build, but at least they don't slide when they are ON your head (due to clamping pressure) - it's annoying to have to re-adjust everytime you put them on tho, since they slide while they are off your head, hanging. Oh well.

Yes, I had the same thing happen to one side of my SR80.

That it happened to both sides of your 325i so quickly is interesting. Probably the Larry pads and adapter...arguably can't blame Grado for that. How heavy are those?

My SR-80's seem to move around on their own. That would be the only downside I think of going up the Grado line - you can have mahogany cups, a metal screen and connecting joint with nice rods and a leather headband and still have that damn plastic L/R thing.

I'm sure this is just a design flaw and he'll have to design a harder plastic for the new 325's or something.

C'mon, Billy, don't tell us you've never weighed any of your gear!

Actually, this is interesting and useful information because it gives a real sense of the relative weight of the new 325i cans that everyone is so excited about. It would be interesting to know how heavy the PS-1 housing is, since that's the one that gives everyone fits in terms of comfort. Thanks for posting this, Lou.

Well its something thats so almost everyday to me, lol

the best thing to make them stick is lick the metal peice and they will stick forever.

I find this "probelm" (if we can call it that) to happen alot with the lower end grados...125..80..so forth.

I haven't had that happen (yet anyways) with my PS-1's and headphile c-pads. Mine do lay flat when not in use though I wonder if having them on a stand with the earcups pulling down all the time speeds up how quickly this happens.

I think this is very interesting given Lou was using Headphile pads. I have owned a lot of Grados, have a bunch on hand now, and have never had this happen. The 325i's are MUCH lighter than either the PS-1's or HP-1's, and the PS-1's are put together the same way as the 325i's, so I am wondering if the Headphile pads really weigh hard on the Grado design? Something to keep an eye on since Grado isn't gonna care one bit about this. Now....if it happens with flats or comfies on...we know there is a problem
