Hi all,

I almost gave myself a nasty emotional trauma when my new IPod (3G 30Gig) went crazy after I plugged in into the changer today.

The symptoms? There "clicking" noise starting "clicking" like a geiger counter and the menus started flashing like crazy.

The cause of the problem?

I had a "Plasma ball" connected and running to the same 4-way power extension (i.e. one of those glass ball where bolts of lightning flow to the sides)

When I switched this off all the chaos ended!

Just to save anyone else the same shock!

I thought this was going to be an extreme paint ball story where the iPod saved your life (in the Bible and bullets Western kinda way).

this is the only reason im staying away from HDD players (now). no matter what, HDDs are still fragile compare to other medias

In the compact media world, I will definitely stick to Solid State Memory Cards, like CF Cards. In the MP3 world, there really isn't yet a solid state player comparable to the hard drive ones that are out there....YET.
