My Brainwavz HM5 died right channel. Here in Brazil there is nothing similar. I bought 7-8 months ago from Portugal. Some sites say the drivers are 42mm. Other 43mm. What would happen if I put the drivers (L and R) 40mm some other headphone? Or adapts 35-45mm?
1 - The sound would be weaker than the original handset?
2 - For example, if I put the DT770 drivers, he would lose bass?
3 - If I put drivers - open headphone, what can happen? A great loss of quality or only smaller soundstage?
4 - The impedance influences into something with the change of LR boxes - acoustic? I use Xonar STX (and love).
5 - Some problem with buy headphone with one side cable? HM5 is Y cable.
The signing of the HM5 was perfect, but would like a little more bass, subbass and good texture. Use with games, metal, rock, pop rock, trance, dance, unplugged, jazz, blues and movies. Anyone have experience to indicate what type of broken headphone or drivers I should seek to achieve the same quality or better than I got with my very comfortable and isolated HM5?
Shure 240A drivers? Bose? Dr. Beat? Skullcandy? Noise canceling? Sonys? Shen? Beyer? Pioneer? There are many broken for sale on ebay. But I do not know what to try. I need LR equal to not cause damage to health.
My desire was the Denon D2000. But still could not find someone at an affordable price. Maybe one day.
Sorry for english grammar. I try.
