I'm looking for an s-video cable in a length of about 50 feet that I won't have to finance to afford. Can anyone make a suggestion? (I have to run the perimeter of the room so I can't really shorten the length.)

I have 42 foot cables. I use two lengths of Canare L-5CFB (RG-6 size) cable with BNC connectors. Each end is terminated with a BNC to S-video breakout cable from Markertek. I tried all manor of S-video cables before this and nothing else even comes close. I was having problems with S-video feed from my older VCR until I switched to these.

As always, as cheap as possible without getting total crap. Like I said, I'm mostly concerned with build quality--not looking for fancy designs or single crystal silver or some such. I'm actually thinking I might be able to get by with around 36 feet.

Kelly, check out markertek.com, they have several different S-video cables available in lengths upto 100ft or more. Prices are very reasonable.

Thanks, guys. I went with the Mogami. Markertek was the same price, though so either would have worked.

I feel weird buying a 50' s-video cable. I hope the drop in quality from the cable length isn't too noticable.
