My apologies for even suggesting this kind of blasphemy, but I need to know:

Could somebody pry open their A1000 or W1000 headphones and take a peek if it has single or two grounding posts at where the headphone cable wires contact with headphone's internal cabling?

If it has three connection points (one for signal for left, another one for signal to right and third one for single ground) then it has common ground. If it has four connection points, it might have separate ground paths for each transducer.

This is important for me as I'd like to know if the ground wires are separate or if they can be separated by changing the wire.

I know, I know... you can shoot me know for even suggesting such a thing

... and the conclusion was that:

W2002 has four wires (and possibly separate ground contacts)

other AT-models have three wires, but they can still have separate ground connection points, they're just not being used!

One can find this out by opening the phone and looking at how the wires are connected to the phone.

You know something? The DADS 3D diagrams look so 'tech' and cool that it was a bit of a surprise to find an expanse of foam inside the A1000. But it's very techily placed

with some different bits of precisely shaped foam stuck in different places.
So, DADS=not acronym for a cavity as I was sarkily saying, but now I know DADS = lots of foam

The AD10 has two wires going from the left cup to the right. I suspect all the Technicas are using the same slim flexible wire. The right driver has two wires going to it as the driver is mounted in plastic.
