hi,
I love my headphones but hate that heavy cumbersome coiled cable they came with. I saw this post of someone modding theirs to use a removable cable. I would like to do the same thing.

however I am new to audio equipment and am not sure if the parts I want to use would be the correct ones for what I'm trying to do.

I was thinking to attach this 1/4 jack to the headphones.

I would think the one I need is the 1/4" 3 Cond Enclosed Jack
is this correct? would that ones make sense? the one in the casing or would an open one like this be better?

as far as 1/4 cables go, I want to make sure I get a quality one, better then the one the headphones came with.
would something like this be right? or is that overkill?

its advertised as an instrument cable, does that matter? is it the same thing?

if anyone has recommendations for cables or jacks that they know are quality and would work for this please feel free to post links.

thank you all for your time! this forums is awesome and always informative!
