I've been using AL im701's as of lately and I love their sound, but I'm looking to maybe get something different.
I was looking a lot into ety's (since im701's should have more or less the same characteristic sound) mc5 or hf5. Also, though I know people on this forum tend to love the RE zeroes. What would you guys recommend? I'm looking to spend under 150 or so.

I recommend the Fischer Audio DBA-02s. There is a review of them and a long thread. Review is by a member named LFF. A search will find it. I love these phones, and I own the MC5 as well. No comparison in my view. The DBAs are about $170 shipped, but worth it. Budgen Audio sells them, as does an ebay seller named GD_audiobase (I have a pair from both, actually, as I recently bought a used back-up). To me, you can't do better for that price point.

+1 for Fischer DBA-02 (though it is a bit above your budget).

^Something to keep you busy while they are shipping to you! :)

The best headphones within your budget are probably the Radius DDM.

The RE-0 sounds good, but not needs a lot of power to sound truly great.

The Phonak PFE's are also a great set of phones.

Sweet. This looks really good, I'll look into it. I'm not really too tight on my budget. haha if something I see looks good at the $200 marker, I'll get that. How do the DBA-02 match up with the ety sound?

Any other suggestions?

For fun sound, try to IE7 or the Custom 3.
