Hi everyone,
I'm considering starting a (very) small online business selling test/burn-in CD-R's -- possibly taking out Mall-Fi and AudioAsylum ads. Got a couple questions for you guys:
(1) Do you think there's a market for these, particularly in CD-R format (which most, but not all CD players will play)?
(2) Do you like the idea of some personalization, I.E. I create the effects you personally want, at the frequencies and levels you want?
(3) I have no uncopyrighted, acoustic music I could include on the CD. It would be possible to license some, but not exactly cheap. Would you ever consider buying a system test/burn-in CD *without* music?
Just exploring the idea right now, I'm not sure there's even enough of a market to do something like this (if I did, it would probably just start on Head-Fi and AudioAsylum). Also looking for interesting ideas about what to include on the CD-R, any "absolute vital" tests you feel are needed on a CD like this, how much you might pay if you ever bought one, etc.
P.S. I know you can download free .wavs from the Net for testing and burn-in (and some people can create their own with the right software), but some are on dialup and also may not have the desire, software or know-how.
P.S. 2 - THIS IS NOT AN AD, I am not currently selling anything at all and maybe never will. Do not PM or Email me about this, because I won't sell anything. If this is too "advertising-ish" anyway, mods plz feel free to delete this thread.
