wall wart for a Cmoy

i'm getting a used 1 9V cmoy (with AD823AN opamp).
how high voltage of a wallwart can i go? more is better for driving power right? is there a safe way to find out?

With my CMOY, JMT recommended something in the 12-18V range. Current is unimportant (it will draw only as much current as it needs).

I used a 12V plugpack. But yeah, around this range is good.

Make sure you check the power supply capacitors (they are the two electrolytics, cyclindrical in shape, standing on end), they should either be 16v or 25v caps, probably 25v. Don't exceed their maximum voltage.

Well it should be set to center positive. Check the wires coming out of the board to the jack. I don't think I built this one, but if I did I use a red wire for positive and black for negative.
