Wadia sources...Anyone have any experience w/ them?

Yes, perhaps the redbook only VRDS transport was discontinued. From what I understand, the cost of the Esoteric Universal VRDS transport as an OEM part is cost prohibitive, even in an $8,000 CD player. Someone told me that the universal VRDS transport was over $1,000 a piece purchased wholesale. That's just crazy.

The new Wadia line probably sources the universal drives from Pioneer (just a guess). If the output is bit perfect, my opinion is that the transport mechanism itself probably doesn't make a significant difference.

Then there's the transport used in Esoteric UX-3 and X-03. I heard that it'll be out as OEM in the future, though at $3000 a piece in lot of 50. Think of that - transport that costs more than an used G08. LOL.
