Sorry, all I can tell you is that the WA6 is a great amplifier that you can fine-tune by changing your tubes from many many options to get the kind of sound that you like.

I guess it depends on what headphone you're going to pair with.  Looking at your signature and impedance alone, I guess WA6 is better for 70 ohms MDR-SA5000.  Earmax with 300 ohms HD650 sounds wonderful tho.

I have not heard the Earmax but I do not regret having spent the last year with my WA6 and I don't feel an amplifier upgrade coming on any time soon.

I have heard that the Earmax SE is designed for low impedance headphones, isn't it?
