Hey folks,

this morning I listened to my Touch amped with a Corda Move and my DT880 cans. Just for fun I tried the "more bass" setting (Electronica could have a lil more bass than the DT880 can deliver

) and it works to my surprise

I was convinced that this EQ-thingy was bypassed using the LOD?!

I'm confused...

not such a good thing is it, for those who want the best possible quality from the line out? you'd think the lineout would bypass all volume and processing. its strange that they chose to allow eq over lineout. incidently i tested my iphone using RMAA. the lineout is an improvement over the headphone output (as anybody is likely to tell without needing graphs and numbers) but its not close to my soundcard's line-out (asus xonar d2). i wonder if it would have been better if the software was bypassed.....

You can't bypass the software/firmware. It has to be running in order to play music.

You are basically "bypassing" the eq completely by having it set to "off".

It's exactly like the EQ in winamp or any other program. When it's on, it modifies the signal. When it's off, it plays it unmodified.

yeah if that were the case we wouldnt be trying so hard to make sure the output is 44.1khz or trying to bypass the windows mixer completely. just because the eq is off doesnt mean the sound isnt being altered and thats what i was talking about.

i suspect you know that already though

One question left.
Is there a way to assign a specific EQ-preset to a song on the Touch that is automatically executed when I run that song?
Example: Most of my libary works well with EQ=off but I still have some stuff that needs a little more bass. I would like to EQ only this songs, without altering the EQ each time

In iTunes i added the preset "more bass" to these songs... but my Touch doesn't run this preset

Good point. Though who knows what the make-up of the apple firmware is? It could be much simpler than the windows counterpart and thus doesn't need alteration. Maybe someone who develops for rockbox might know?
