How about a couple lower categories as well? Under $30, Under $100?

I'd pick Koss KSC-35's for under $30 any day of the week

You could also add in some Sennheiser electrostats (HE60/90). DT770 are enjoyed by many also.

Alessandro phones should probably be included.

Also the SR-225's are better than the SR-325's in my opinion. At least they should be listed at the $200 mark.

Otherwise a good starting list.

I second what blessingx says. So here's another vote from me for adding the SR-225 to the <$200 category. I daresay they're a better value and sound than the SR-325...

HD580's are beyond comparison to any of the other <$200 headphones. In fact, they are better than any $200 or less headphones.

As for $200 - $500, either the HD600 (with cable) or K1000.

$500 - $4000 - either R10 or Omega II.

$200-$500 is etys 4s, hd600 is so overrated.

under $1k is HP-1, and over that is omega 2.

i still feel that the best dynamic headphone is the hp-1, and the best electrostatic headphone is the omega 2.

Under $50
Sennheiser MX500 - Cant beat the value, its $20! Sounds great for the price too.

Like Zaphod pointed out, change the beyer DT800 to DT880.
Also change the Grado "R1" and "R2" to RS1 and RS2. Although I personally think the SR-225 beats the RS2.

Probably also want to add the AKG K271 Studio under $200. They are very comparable to the Ultrasones and much more comfortable!

Add the Alessandros. At least the MS-Pro.

Another earbud in the $200 - $500 category would be the Shure E5. In the $500 - $4000 category: Add the Sensaphonics ProPhonic 2X - Soft. Probably also want to add the Grado HP-2 since it sounds almsot identical to the HP-1 but just doesnt have fancy phase switches.

Otherwise, a very good start. I definately cant think of anything else.

Senn HD590 at the $150 many authorized dealers are selling it for currently is a steal. Possibly better than all other headphones in the under $200 level (with, perhaps, the exception of the HD580).

Where can you get a K1000 for less than US$500? I mean, let's compare new prices with new prices or street prices with street prices.
