volume on sony NW E407

hello
im new here, i registered in the hope that one of you guys could advise if theres any way that i can change the maximum volume on my Sony NW E407 walkman.
its far too quiet.

would appreciate any comments

Btw, posting the same question once is usually enough heh.

I have the e505 myself. What headphones are you using with your flash player? I haven't had to go past volume-15 with any of my headphones yet. It's possible you're using a set of inefficient cans, but we'll find out.

Seriously, I can't go anywhere near the volume cap or my ears hurt. Either you are going deaf, your player is broken or you are using high impedance heaphones. Hopefully it isn't one of the first two reaons.

It's only 5mw, but most portable earphones will be powered fine. I did find the 70-ohm, 100db/mw Qualia 010 underpowered from the E400/500, but flash players aren't designed to drive phones like this.


Perhaps you're using the original earphones in a high-noise area and trying to overpower the noise by turning the volume up...?
