Okay , I'm a little lost here , so if I stumble , you know why . Do any of the portable DIY dac's work with Vista ? Sorry , but 2 weeks worth of reading hasn't made that clear to me yet . If not , then the commercial pickins are slim . I've only come across the TB Audio Advantage SRM , X-Fi Express Audio and M-Audio Transit sound cards . I was hoping to find something better . I'm really not wanting to dual boot or downgrade to XP .

TI's PCM2xxx series has standard USB Audio Class spec. So it can be used in Vista as well as XP. Alien DAC(PCM2702) and COSDAC v2(PCM2704) and many more...

Thanks for the reply . I also found out that E-mu should be releasing a Vista supported driver for the 0404 and 0202 this QTR . There pci line has already been released . They actually have a workaround in the meantime for the usb line. Meantime , I'll be ordering an Alien DAC , which should be a fun project .
