Dear Head-Fiers,

We are happy to announce that the EXT MK II is now available to order on our website!

We've elevated the popular audio experience to new heights, with even deeper, more accurate and impactful lows building the base for brilliantly clear and layered mids. All while preserving the legendary performance of our electrostatic drivers. You can expect a much more spacious soundstage with natural presentation of the smallest details, without taking the engaging fun part - that has made our EXT so popular - out of the experience.

But that's not all – the newly designed, smaller nozzle offers an incredibly secure and comfortable fit for even more ears, without losing a single note of our signature sound. Get ready to be blown away by the unmatched precision, comfort and sonic brilliance of the EXT MK II!

Check out the videos to get an impression of the re-designed nozzle:

EXT MK II - Limited Edition (gold)

Our limited edition of the EXT MK II comes with a shimmering golden faceplate, a matching CNC-milled golden case as well as a gold-detailed black cable that our good friends at Effect Audio developed specifically for our vision of the perfect EXT MK II. The carefully matched mix of copper, silver and gold alloys allows more separation in the upper mids and stronger presence in the high frequencies. This sets the stage for an even more expansive sound, evoking the feel of open-back headphones. Vocals become more immediate and lifelike, instruments settle perfectly into their spaces, and the bass seems to emerge from nowhere - delivering a tighter, more impactful punch. Just 200 lucky astronauts will have the fortune of flying away into a golden galaxy with our EXT MK II Limited Edition before this era of our company comes to a glorious finish.

The EXT MK II is available to order now and will be shipped from the beginning of October. Find out more on our website!

We hope you are as excited as we are and will enjoy our EXT MK II!

Best greetings from Cologne!

I literally just received my Phönix yesterday. Do you think I should return it for the EXT MKII? I do prefer Dynamic Drivers for bass even though the Phönix BA drivers do a good job of bass compared to the Multiverse Mentor I had.

Edit:

I'm going to see if Bloom Audio will let me return it for a store credit for a restocking fee. I stupidly already used the included Phönix metallic sticker! Lol 😔

Oh, is there anything different about the Gold Limited Edition model besides the color and better Effect Audio cable? Different tuning or anything?

After doing some further reading on the original EXT. I don't think the new EXT MKII is right for my tastes of sound. I think I'll stick with my Phönix for its rich mids/vocals and high detail retrieval. Granted it's not Dynamic Driver bass, but I've already got that covered in the other 3 IEMs I own. So I personally believe it's good to have different sounding IEMs with different abilities that can compliment one another instead of having a lot of overlap. Basically more tools for the toolbox for different genres and styles of music.

I'm just going to try the Eletech Ode to Laura cable with my Phönix and see if there is an improvement in areas of the sound. With my Aroma Audio Fei Wan it enhanced the Bass to hit harder and become tighter and more controlled, and it dramatically pushed the mids/vocals forward. With the Treble it kept all the details of the stock cable but smoothed out some of the harshness that the stock cable induced in certain tracks of music. It turned a more U shaped stock tuning into more of a W shape. I never thought an audio cable could do so much right. Half the time I typically experience a negative outcome on the sound profile with most "upgrades".

Thanks!
