I think it will be nice. I was able to try a Leo I with the tour unit Elysium I had and was sufficiently impressed. I found it opened up the stage a but and improved extension and detail on both ends.

I personally enjoy how the stock cable sounds with them, but a cable I'd recommend for a bit more air and impact (down low, especially) would be Effect Audio's Virtuoso. It's from their Vogue line-up, so it's very affordable. I personally love how the two match, and it doesn't bottleneck the ELYSIUM's at all too.

I’m also on the lookout for a cable. Currently using the Triton Cardas clear Light (pw1960). It a slight increase in “air” and clarity over the stock but really the stock cable is very good. When I had both my current M8 and the DX228ex I liked the latter’s transient attack like the leading edge of the pluck of a string or the bite of a bow on a violin string but I also like the “organic” tone of the M8. I’d like to find a cable to balance the two.. the 1960 is a step in that direction but kind of looking at the Eletech Plato. The Iliad is too expensive... maybe,,haha

It’s a Bespoke octa cable made from a Leonidas I and Lionheart cables...very good, improve mids and bass, but the highs turns a bit piercing....

I'm wondering what people are doing with the gain settings on their daps for the Elysium.
I tend to listen at night at lower volumes and so with my M8 I use low gain and hover around 30 on the volume most of the time. There is the odd album that needs more but mostly this is fine.. I know they say that the estats like power though. Are others using high gain but lower volume or higher volume on lower gain. Excuse my technical ignorance but is there a difference. I'll try to figure it out empirically but I wondered as to others' experiences...
