Alot of people are hopping on vinyl...I'm saving for a turntable and want to start with some good LP's. I have heard vinyl so I do know what I'm missing!

What are the top 5 LP's you think you cannot live without?

I've got several I can't live without, but I didn't know it beforehand.

Get yourself to used record stores, junk shops, thrift stores, garage sales, and ask your friends and family if they have old records you can have.

Pick up anything that looks interesting, wash it, then listen.

Don't bother with $40 180g audiophile pressings. Go used, it's cheap. And don't be afraid to pick up something you haven't heard before. That's the best way.

I buy newer pressings for the artwork.

But yeah, yard sales and stuff like that's a great way to find new music.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to buy some new vinyl just to have. Keeps the presses rolling afterall.

Pink Floyd: DSOTM 30th anniversary edition is still available and awesome.

Slint: Spiderland: because 'this record is supposed to be listened to on vinyl'

The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots: because it's the best recording of this great record
