Hey all,

I've got a line on a late 70's early 80's Sony TA 3650 amp. I'm going to run a turntable and cd player through it if I pick it up. anyone know anything about it? I cant find much of anything online. and there is no info on it here on head-fi. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I thought I was the only person who still had one of those. I purchased my Sony TA-3650 in 1977. I still use it everyday. The only specs I can remember are that its ouput is conservatively rated at 55 watts per channel rms @8ohms, THD is less than 0.1%, IM distortion less than 0.1%. Sorry, I can't give you more, but I just threw the owner's manual in the trash three months ago when I moved. I do know that the phono section specs, crosstalk, stereo separation and other significant specs are in line with whatever was considered to be high fidelity in the mid to late seventies. It's a solid little amp that still sounds better than most of the computerized stuff being sold today.
