I listened to the SE700 and one other I can't identify (it had a mesh gold dome behind the driver--beautiful finish) all through the 70's. Great cans.

Post a picture! Most things are in the vintage headphone brouchure archives, the wikiphonia, and the japanese headphone site. Or on head-fi.

I've been tempted to buy one, but they always go for more than I'm willing to pay. I think a lot of people buy them because of they're looks. Everything about them looks good except the pads. Did the pads originally have a more attractive covering?

This actually just reminded me that I need to update my review on the SE-L40s after getting my EF5!

By far Pioneer has some of the most gorgeous vintage headphones and that was what lead me to my purchase of the SE-L40s. I was thinking about snagging a couple of vintage fellows throughout the year when my bank account allows me to.

How do the new Monitor 10-series hold up? If the Monitor 10 R is any good or even better I'll buy one for sure. I just hope it has the same sound as the older Monitor 10s with more sonic reach. My Monitor 10s from 1978 are sounding better now, but the lower bass isn't deep enough.

The Monitor 10s are otherwise just as good as the V6-es, according to my ears. The V6-es are more coloured.
