Technics SU-Z780.

Does anyone know how good is this amp?

SU-Z780 is rated at 100W/ch (8 ohm) new class A. I was able to find very little additional information about this amp.

Do you intend to use it with headphones, speakers, or both?

What is the overall condition?

How much will it cost?

Ctn,

You may want to look at this if you haven't bought yet: http://mark.kouts.home.mindspring.com/technics.htm

does it say New Class A or Class AA?

If it's anything like my Technics SUV96, it's not really class A, it uses a monolithic power chip, uses a radiator to cool, has a somewhat collapsed soundstage, and will readily drive all headphones; produces prodigious bass.

Thanks guys.

I could find the power rating for amp quite easily and that its really class AB. It says its new class A.

Condition is ok but looks dusty on the front panel. I replaced the stock crummy fan with a die-cast alum papst 240v fan.

Cost, well I have no idea what it's worth atm.

Currently Im using it with my comp/ps2 with below average speakers.

Reason Im asking is to find out how much would it be worth if I decided to sell it.
