Just when I thought I was making my mind on the Sony IER-Z1R, JVC announced the next family of the Wood family, which is my secret passion.

It looked a bit strange at first, but I understand the fit now. Also, judging from the pictures, it incorporates some of the technological advancements that were made with the recent Solidege FD series.

Overall, this is great news for people who were worried that the Wood series was being phased out for the Solidege series.

It looks like with the new features its going to be a refined and resolving that the previous iterations thats for sure many found the FD01 to have a very CFA Andromeda level of resolution to them which very well liked here on head-fi. I do feel JVC felt a need for this seeing the Z1R but competition always makes us as consumers winners. Im very curious as to how these stack up to Z1R. :beerchug:

I have the FX1200 and FW01. Had the JVC SU-AX7 portable amp too. Love them to bits. But the eye watering price tag of this new IEM.....

Wondering if JVC is following Sony's IER-Z1R. Any release date yet?

Could be. I personally saw what they did with the SW01 and AX01 as following Sony’s setup with the MDR-Z7 and PHA-3 from a few years back. At the same time, this was probably in development for a long time, seeing as how they couldn’t have just been inspired by the Z1R and developed a competing product in such a short space of time. It even incorporates some elements of the Solidege FD series.

That price though... 192,240¥ which translates to over 1,700 usd... MacBook territory. They must really believe that they can compete with Sony.

I always wanted one of these JVC wood but I’ve come to a point that I’m fed up of International shipping. It’s not the waiting, it’s not the customs it’s just the worry of it failing within the warranty period.
There was a time I imported a ton of Sony and Pioneer stuff within 2014-2016. But I’ve just come to a point to live without it.
JVC if you’re seeing this please list some woods on the US site.

That price brought tears to that poor girl’s eyes.
Despite the price, the FW10000 has been receiving REALLY positive impressions at Day 1 of the Headphone Festival in Tokyo today based on what I had read on social media. Will be expecting a fierce battle between FW10000 & IER-Z1R & Campfire Solaris at the price range of 1.5k to 2k usd iem.
