AND...

it seems like its totally out of stock everywhere and product info brought down on main local stores... is that a sign of a *cough* new update *cough* on its way?
I’ve been waiting for this...too damn long...

I paid ¥67,510 for a brand new one from Amazon back in 2018. Nowadays a secondhand one would cost me nearly as much and obviously not be in pristine condition.

I’m surprised JVC hasn’t announced anything so far. The FW10000 was back in 10/18/2018 and the SU-AX01 was back in 9/15/2016. Those dates have long passed and no news on a new amplifier...

This style wont be easier to use on the go.

Depends on whether the shape & size of your ears allows you to wear them like this (JVC FD01 + TRN BT20S wireless earhooks):

I'm definitely taking a chance here and obviously I wouldn't risk my money unless it's a physical store. Supposedly they'll receive some parallel imports by the end of this month and it's gonna cost roughly 120,000 yen (2680 + 6000 = HK$8680) a piece

I had a glance at their hand-written list of pre-orders, there were about 8 names or so while their reputation seemed to be fine

Authorized dealers do offer 1 year of warranty but it's gonna be HK$12,900, then there's also a discount for anyone who's willing to bring cash

Fingers crossed and hoping for the best, it's gonna be interesting to compare FW10000 with my Onkyo SN-1.
Do you know of anyone personally who has bought from this source in Hong Kong? It is available again at HK$8,880, which is a great price. But you can naturally understand my concerns about authenticity.

I dunno anyone personally who got that deal before, though it's certainly not worth the hassles unless you've got a contact here in Hong Kong. They'll only take it back within 7 days after the payment, that's why it won't be any good unless you're like Son Goku (maybe Vegeta soon?) who's capable of Instant Transmission.

Not to mention that anyone on the street could get beaten up out of the blues these days, of course you might simply transform into Super Saiyan Blue or even give Autonomous Ultra Instinct a shot just for good measure.

@ip_csl also bought that but we never met IRL

Sadly no sign of JVC 4.4mm cable. I've tried many cables, and I think I'm going to settle with Dita Oslo. I think FW10000 has at times this brighter edge to it that Oslo smoothens.

I like oslo swappable plug, for my favourite IEM I like to try them with various source, which Oslo cable allows me.

I think I'm ready to settle on Oslo, until I come across something truly better.

That’s a real disappointment, but if nothing is announced come the end of November, then I’ll buy a PHA-3 or a PHA-1A and Sony’s 4.4mm cable.

IMO whatever JVC announces needs to be competitive with Sony’s amps because they can output at 320mW without needing to be plugged into a power source. I see no point in buying another SU-AX01 when it only reaches 220mW (source).

I do own a Dita OSLO, PlusSound X6 Tri-Silver and Crystal Cable Dream Duet, and have tried to pair them with my JVC. All are nice but like you said, the OSLO does smoothen a tad too much. The Tri-Silver sounds pretty impressive, so resolving, 3D and full of life, yet it's the Dream Duet that wows me...:) Give them a try.
