Ok, so I've a spare 140$ or so laying around and I already own the D1k and Shure 440. I am really not fond of either and my open back experience outweighs my closed back experience.

Thing is, I really would like a nice set of closed backs that are very comfy, has a short cord no longer than 4 feet ( if detaching its ideal ) and has relatively small cans. An example of this is the D1k, they have small cans, where the Shure 440 does not.

Are there any superior ultrasones to the 440 and D1k for this price. What about the Sennheiser PXC350? That is my ideal set but i cant find it anywhere, nobody ever sells them here and ebay has them for double my price range. :[

Look for a portable or recable... it's hard to find a short cable.

Small earcups... can't think of any I know well.

PX200 II... small earcups, FWIR comfy, and 4 ft cord.

I was looking for cans, over the ears :\ Px200s are on ears i thought :[

I was also looking at the Shure750DJ....both that and the Senn pxc350 fit my requirements ( although the senn is not really in my price range, maybe if someone sold it to me here i could afford it)

What about the Sennheiser HD 25? They might be just big enough to go around the ears. I saw someone wearing it this week and really wouldn't have minded it if I had one as well at that point. I mean, they would be very nice ear warmers :p. They might be just outside of your pricerange though.

NOnonononono. The HD25 is smaller than the K81DJ and Grado line.

Don't know how big they are, but the V6 with DT 250 velour pads FWIR are very comfy.

Buy them, and if they are too big, return them.

The Ultrasone DJ1 pro costs 120 euro in Holland which is pretty close to the 140 dollar mark, but I don't know if you can get them cheap in the US (or any other place in the world), they should sound pretty good (haven't heard them myself but did read a lot of positive things about them). The cable is detachable, but I don't know the length, they are pretty big too.

You will always have to make compromises, the HD25 are a nice set of cans too if you are willing to drop the long term comfort and over ear part.
