I do hope this finds you all well?

I currently have a BOSE 2.1 Companion 5 desktop speaker and sub setup. It is at the end of ife and after 11 years it has done BOSE proud and the sound quality has not been poor either.

To move on, I would dream of a smaller setup if possible....The sub at the moment is typically under the desk so it being elsewhere but close by would free up legroom. Power comes into the sub, all other connections move out of the sub to USB to PC, Left/Right Speakers, Control Pod etc.

Speakers in a dream land would be maximum the same in diameter

• Each satellite speaker:8.9" H x 5.8" W x 3.8" D (1.9 lbs)

I get the feeling that it certainly sounds fantastic and for the price, it should...I would like a new desktop 2.1 setup so input, thoughts, guidance, advice and your best suggestion for a build would be REALLY appreciated.

I would suggest giving a listen to the Harbeth P3ESR. It's a bit bigger than your spec, but the sound is oh so wonderful, especially with a Schiit front end, say, a Bifrost Multibit DAC. Grist for your mill!
