It is hard to tell... but does the Makka Limited Edition Monk have a unique shell color? I bought these second hand... because I thought they would be the same shell color.

I'm hoping they're the same shell... and it is a "filter" on my S8+ that is making the colors different.

I imagine that, if you're listening at reasonably low volumes, you'd not be close enough for anyone to notice the leakage.

Cheers :) I decided to get a pair as they were so cheap anyway and they're perfect for a library, definitely quiet enough.

Philippine Exclusive VE Monks!

These look awesome, better than my smokey grey ones (although I've got the same colour arrangement for the foam). Can I ask what the hole in the middle of the foam is for? Did they come like that or is that a mod I've missed? Thank you :)

just got this today, if I didn't know better I would think they were a different earbud from first listening out of the box

I wonder how they compare to asura, since I have been wanting to buy them for a while, listening to these, I almost feel like I can hear what people have said about the asura 2.0, but I could be imagining things...

if I don't buy the asura, I would buy the zen instead eventually, but first I'd buy the bluemonk just because, also blue is the opposite of orange

Congrats!

Not trying to sway you (okay maybe just a little bit), but the Asura 2.0 is a darn good sounding earbud. Stacks up very well against all of the VE earbuds I've listened to so far.

kinda trying not to have earbuds that overlap too much (and kinda failing)

ever since I got the monk+ I was curious about the asura and zen, after reading that the asura can have good bass if you overpower them, I was more curious to get them but from then everything else I read contradicts from person to person...

and going on price alone the asura are "only" 30 AUD more than for what I paid for the monk + makka for, that seems really close

so far I have 3 earbuds that have cost me more than 100 AUD, shozy cygnus, ty hi-z hp-650 and blox b320, could the asura be as good to buy and not overlap any of them?

I'm pretty sure the zen are, but for me, they cost 200 AUD, and for now I will have to wait...

Ok, maybe I'm dreaming. Maybe I'm blasphemous. Still! I was wondering if there's any kind of adapter that turns an earbud into an IEM. I'm not sure if I've actually seen somewhere a rubbery-thing that does that or I've just imagined it. I'm asking here because I'd like to try something like that on the Monk Plus. I wonder how they would sound with in-ear canal and perfect IEM-like seal.

I tried some cheap covers like the one posted above, but for me they were uncomfortable and made the earbuds sound thin, I haven't tried a cover that converts an earbud into a true iem with ear tips like the one comply used to sell for original Apple earbuds, I don't even think they sell/make something like that for earbuds that are as big as mx500 shell

edit, not sure if I described that well, I mean that comply used to make a cover to make apple earbuds into an actual iem, can't find it on the internet, but its pretty niche

Did you get them in SE or Balanced? Or does it not matter since you may or will change the cables yourself?

Do I have a reputation or something? lol. I got the SE. I do have tons of balanced plugs to swap with it though, so... will see.
