Funny things happen when a keyboard recording is played back at 48 KHz instead of 44.1. I guess Van Halen were either too cheap or too broke to hire a real keyboard player. Anyway, the recording speaks for itself

Never mind. Further research indicates that the most likely cause of that dissonant train wreck was that Eddie's guitar was out of tune for some as of yet undetermined reason.

They just should have stopped after a few bars, grabbed a different guitar that was in tune, and re-started. That would have been much more forgivable than playing an entire (encore) song out of tune like that.

Oh well s**t happens live, if that's the worst incident they ever have to deal with in a live situation, they should consider themselves lucky.

When I saw DLR on the Yankee Rose tour with Vai and Sheehan, David forgot the lyrics to a handful of songs on several occasions. He must have felt like a tool. He hung his head in shame several times while forgetting the lyrics.

Kudos to them for pulling it off and sticking with it. Anyone who's played out live knows there are more things that go wrong in a gig than things that go right. I'm just glad Ed seems to have his life back together, and doing what he's always loved.

does anyone really listen to VH for the keyboards anyways
