Was wondering if you guys liked the vaja case and if you had unlimited money to spend on a case, would you get the vaja?

I am really reluctant to shell out 70 dollars for a case and then wait a whole month to get it. It just seems so ridiculous to me. But I want to make sure my Ipod doesn't get damaged ever if I ever need to sell it. Plus the more you take care of it, the longer it lasts in general.

If I get the case, I am going to get the 20G and if I don't then I want to get the 40G since I am basing this off my budget though I only have about 18 or so Gigs of music on hand.

BTW, what I look for in a case is unobtrusive size which means I want it to shape the form of the ipod, not just cover the whole damn thing to make it look bulky. I want portability and I want ease to use.

Ultimately, I was looking for a custom clear rubber one that fit the 4G mold and also was minimal in thickness.

mate
given that Apple is charging $AU75 for the POS Ipod fake leather case here in Aus, If I were in your place I would run and get it, then again one of the Iskins is as good plus the clear option still let's you retain the ultra cool look

Vaja makes the only case that I would put my iPod into. As well as my Dell Axim and my cell phone. They are flat out the best cases made.

Well, any skin wrapper would match your criteria, with the ones from
http://www.macskinz.com/ being sorta pretty as well.

Nevertheless, the vaja cases are top notch, I love mine. But they are admittedly decadent (especially the cantina white ones, it is like taking a brand new mercedes to a mud race

) and maybe you should not limit your iPod decision today due to the case. It is not that there would be no more vaja cases available next month or so.

I've used many a case for my gadgets, from Proporta, Piel Frama (good quality but huge), Ebcases, Speckproduct, and even good ole Lajo. No case I've ever used for my ipaq/ipod comes close to a Vaja iVolution. You get what you pay for.

Save your money. I have a Vaja case for my Dell and it does look very nice but the construction is just so-so. The leather on the sides is seperating from the backing. No US customer service so it will need to go back to Argentina for repair.

Yes, send it back because that's not the Vaja quality I know. The vaja cases I have owned:

3g ipod iVod
2210 iPaq iVolution
3630 iPaq wallet case
3630 iPaq "naked" case
3630 iPaq CF sleeve case
3630 iPaq pcmcia sleeve case
Clie n770 case
Palm IIIc case
Jornada 568 case
Loox case

Of all of these, the only one with a QC issues was the CF sleeve case. There was buckling on the back, as if the leather was too heavy. They fixed it.

I dunno, $70 seems a bit steep. I just got the Belkin Neoprene Sport Case as a cheap temporary case, works great, although it doesn't look as nice as the Vajas. Plus there are just so many color choices. Too many option for an indecisive person like myself. Personally, I think I'm gonna wait til the 4g Pod Sleevz comes out. It's incredibly thin, protects against scratches and minor stuff like that, and looks good, though I don't think it offers much in the way of drop protection.

i just pre-ordered an iSkin evo...should ship in another week. it's small, has a removable belt clip, screen protector...

i might get a vaja, too. although they say 30 days, i recently ordered a custom wallet from vaja that took about a week. i think the 30 days is just the maximum they would take for those orders that are personalized...

Looking at the pictures at vajacases I would rather say no. The opening for the dock connector looks just as big as the one on the 3G case, which is too small for the Pocketdock.
