Hi everyone,

I heard the M100 standard cups are not large enough. Tried to find the inside measurements of it but unsuccessful, can anyone help? Just trying to compare the size of the cups with my current Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear and if they are the same then I will be 100% convinced to purchase the M100.

Stock pads (not deep) uncompressed measure just a tad but over ½" deep.

It's really frustraiting that all the reviews of the Vmoda m100, m100 master and wireless 2 CODEX are so differente between each other. I'm a bass head and I don't want to buy de Wireless if is real that the bass is lower than the m100, but then some reviews say it's better, others say that is not ass V shaped...

My dream is a shop in argentina were you can test the headphones before buying them jajaja

OG M100 measures closest to the Wireless 2, the M100 Master is more neutral in comparison. If you were a basshead I'd say to go with the OG M100, but those may be difficult to come by.

Does the pads of the crossfade wireless 2 codex match with the m100 or they don't fit? Doese pad's look more confortable.
I‘ve had a pair of XL pads which I purchased years ago for my M-100 when none of the wireless models were available, and they fit my CF2 without problems. M-100, M-100 Master, CF2 and CF2 Codex all share the same pad mount dimensions, just the upper parts differ.

Well, finally i got my V-MODA M-100. It’s all true the reference of the users about the bass. I can hear a extreme sub bass, the pads for me are confortable but I have small ears.

I found the treble a bit foward, I prefer a more reccesed treble because I hate ear fatigue, but anyway it’s not harsh and is tolerable. Without that peak on the 10k it Will be the best headphone i ever heard.

The only bad thing is that i bought a used headphone and one of the nut’s that connect the headband to the cops is a bit loose and I don’t have the ítem that v-moda send with the shields to adjust that nut, i Will try to find someone who have that ítem to adjust it…

Now listening last set of Miss Monique, that have huge bass extensión, really enjoying the sound signature.

I found them with a large soundstage and clearly defined mids. Cost / Benefit it’s imposible to find a better bass head headphone.

Last but not least, this headphones are beautifull. There are few over ear headphones that don’t make you look like a foul in the streets, this make you even look better 😊

Well... I'm back. Just recently stocked up on white M-100 (got two pairs new in original sealed packaging) and already outfitted one with the XL pads. What can I say... still love them.

The long version with history, reasons and other tidbits can be found on my own website (not a review blog, and no ads) in case anyone's interested:

That story started out as a post here, but grew out of hand... so I moved it.

Great note, i have now my XL pads but i don't wan't to break the headphones, tried to remove the stock pads but they are hard to remove, i think maybe they are stuck. The youtube videos removing the pads don't give me any trust, the crack sound on the videos keep me back of doing that jajaja

Yes, I did not get it either from various videos and descriptions... so I tried to take some photos explaining the initial steps:

The position of some of the small extensions holding the pad are marked red here:

Just getthe pad out of the way by grabbing the soft part and pulling to the center of the opening (i.e. away from the rim). Pull until there is a small gap, insert a flat screwdriver between two of the tabs on the long side:

Now gently move the hard base of the pad up, away from the driver/capsule. There are tabs all around the cup, only the first ones are a bit hard to overcome.

Hope this helps -- the XL pads are definitely worth it!

Try #2. I deleted a bunch of ...rambling.

I recently purchased the V-Moda Crossfade 2 Codex headphones. Working on burn-in atm as I want to give these a fair shot before deciding on keeping these or the WH-1000xm4 headphones. Prob keeping w/ these, tho I also dig the simplistic & understated design of the Sony's. Anyways, as soft as they are, I couldn't stand the earpads that came stock on the Codex's, so I pulled the XL Pads off my M-100s. Crazy how such a simple change could change the feel of the headphones. Resting comfortably & evenly Around the ear as oppose to not finding the right balance of sitting partially On the ear (one side feeling more 'roomy' than the other, more pressure, closer).

Anyways, This swap is meant to be temporary as they belong back on on the M-100. I ordered some WC Wicked earpads that should be arriving tomorrow. Hoping these are comfortable w/o altering the sound too significantly. Do you guys have any preferred 3rd party earpads?

Well, the WC Wicked’s came in today. Tight fit to get them in but they do work. The foam feels a little more firm and the leather a little less pliable than the XLs, but to be totally fair, have seen quite a bit of use over the last 6 years. Mmm, just finished listening to “In This River” by Black Label Society.. What a song! RIP Dimebag!
